Established in Montebelluna, a northern mountain town renowned as the cradle of the Italian shoe industry and affectionately known as the city of rainbows, Avocco emerged as a symbol of excellence. The brand’s name draws inspiration from the picturesque phenomenon of rainbow clouds enveloping the mountains, encapsulated in the Italian phrase “Arcobaleno nuvola picco.”
In 1983, Sr. Roberto Maggini, the founder of Avocco, was captivated by the breathtaking sigh of rainbow clouds adorning the mountain landscapes during a rainy morning. Driven by his enduring ambition to craft a distinguished footwear brand, he artfully amalgamated the Italian terms for rainbow (Arcobaleno), cloud (nuvola), and peak (picco) to conceive the brand name Avocco. Infusing a visual element, he ingeniously transformed the initial letter “A” into a striking eagle head totem, a powerful emblem that has become synonymous with the brand and serves as its distinctive trademark.
Thus, the Avocco brand came into existence, earning it the endearing moniker of the “Eagle Head” brand of shoes.
